The Workhouse was established in June 2017 by artist Cal Jenx, it’s also home to residents Rob Wilden, Rachael Rose and Vera Ickler, along with incredible guest artist’s who visit from all across the world. Hidden away in Sheffield’s famous Kelham Island, it’s surrounded by beautiful industrial heritage and a fast growing independent scene of bars, shops and other attractions.

The studio moves away from the normal hustle and bustle of street shop tattooing and takes a more relaxed one to one approach, were we focus only on one or two clients per artist, per day. Being tattooed can mean so many things to so many different people, it can mark a special moment in your life or it can be a right of passage and it can even just be for fun! That’s why we have created this space to make sure you get the best experience in a safe and friendly environment.

Our vision is to build not only a great studio but a great community, whether it’s working with local businesses or offering advice for places to visit while on your trip here.

For further information on the local on going’s and places to go, we recommend you visit www.thisiskelham.com

We look forward to collaborating with you.
